MC/engineer duo Mick Marx and Sur Jazz of Beyond Modern started making music while living in Baltimore. After the release of their debut album in 2010 under a different name (Sim-PLEX) they gained much attention from music critics and lovers alike. The young artists’ fresh take on hip hop mixed with their ability to create innovative sounds birthed Beyond Modern, with a new EP set to release later this summer.
