Two of my favorite Brits have come together on a track behind a Wizzy Wow production! A couple of days ago Estelle released “Whatever You Like” featuring my girl Roses Gabor and invited MCs to jump on the record saying “lemme hear the dopest verses.” How exciting is that?! The track, featured above, gives us some pseudo dubstep and I love it! Not sure if this is going to get reworked or not (there are currently two versions on Soundcloud) but listen above and let me know what you think!

Smooth Florida lyricist, Vinny Virgo, dropped his Me, Myself and High project a couple months back. Filled with melodic rhythms and sexy lyrics, this chocolate brother is definitely on to something. Chicago native Trevor the Trashman, just released the first single of off his forthcoming EP Embrace the Weird which drops today. The record, “50 Shades of Grey” was produced by Milo who just released a track with Flatbush Zombies, and has that trill vibe everyone is head over heels about right now. Trevor, similar to Flatbush Zombies and Flosstradamus, drives his music towards his unique weirdness, hence the title of the EP. Fur is a London based live band that infuses hip hop, afrobeat, and jazz in their music. Their upcoming release, “Biannual Coffee Cups,” is launching this Saturday at the Vortex Jazz Bar in London on Soul Rub Records, an independent label based in the UK. Fur’s unique take on the evolution of sound brings them together collectively as an 8-piece ensemble (drums, bass, rhythm guitar, tenor guitar, cello, tenor sax, trumpet, and and vocals) and I’m loving what I’m hearing so far. My favorite soul garage band, Black Alley, released the visual for their original single “Virgin Suicide” which was featured on their album Soul.Swagger.Rock.Sneakers.

The lyrics of “Virgin Suicide” serve as a metaphor to describe how the budding indie band perceives each new opportunity to share their music with a new audience – feelings of apprehension, excitement, reluctance, passion, vulnerability….

Not sure if it was the sample or the fact that I heard a familiar voice on this track but Sikai and XV put together an amazing hop hop record with “Falling Star.” Still unfamiliar with Sikai, I’m impressed with this track, and the fact that there was a verse from XV on it.
